Brief history and experience 

An acknowledged strong communicator, facilitator, presenter and coach, John Stylianou first trained as an accounting technician with BDO, and was promoted to Audit Manager before moving into training, development and resourcing. In this role he recruited the firm’s audit staff from graduate trainees to managers. He also trained, mentored and coached the audit trainees and was responsible for all training in the audit department. John has been a Business Partner to three regional offices, diagnosing both organisational and individual learning needs, and then writing and implementing bespoke solutions that resonate with the business needs. Examples include the firm’s most widely recognised Three Day Management Development Programme which is a blend of web based, classroom and experiential learning for managers.

Following the closure/merger of regional offices, John has been involved in a significant number of change management interventions, which ensured improved engagement, staff morale and motivation, as demonstrated by the firm’s staff satisfaction survey, and the low staff turnover rates in the merged offices. John has a passion for delivering learning and development solutions to the highest standards, and is committed to adding value to the organisation. All interventions demonstrate a sense of fun, honest feedback, an ability to allow participants to be themselves, to have total trust, and to enable them to achieve their full potential, while at the same time achieving the business goals.

John is a highly energetic and experienced Learning and Development Manager designing and delivering high quality training solutions. During the last seven years John has been involved in all aspects of creating and delivering learning and development, team building and executive training programmes for BDO. John is also accredited in a number of psychometric tools such as Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Insights, Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) and Team Management Systems (TMSDI).
